There’s been a lot of talk about Fall being right around the corner but we’re not ready to give up on Summer just yet. We’ve got a month of summer left to enjoy wearing flips flops and shorts while having an ice cream at the Old Town market square. There are several outdoor events in Alexandria to keep you entertained until it’s time to get out the pumpkins and start raking leaves.

Friday, August 24, Lee-Fendall House is hosting the final Trivia night fundraiser at 7 pm in their beautiful garden area. The cost is $5.00 per person and that includes a beer or glass of wine. The theme this Friday is Literature. For additional information and to purchase tickets, click here. This event is restricted to 21 and older.

Saturday, August 25, Yappy Hour with Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA) will be at James Duncan Library (2501 Commonwealth Ave) at 10 am with light refreshments. There are planned activities for kids and furry friends and will include free frisbees (first come, first serve).

Saturday, August 25, Another fun event will be the 2018 Alexandria Irish Festival, presented by  Ballyshaners Inc., at Waterfront Park in Old Town (1 Prince St). Enjoy the sounds and foods of Ireland. Festivities begin at 11 am until 7 pm - rain or shine.

Saturday, Sept 1, Radiance Yoga will offer free all-level flow yoga on the market stage (301 King) the first Saturday of every month at Old Town Farmer’s Market. Classes will begin at 8 am until 8:50 am. Bring your mat and water.  Be sure to bring your market bags, so you can purchase fresh peaches and corn at the Farmer’s market after your yoga session.

“Summer is a state of mind” and I hope your end of summer days are filled with lots of laughter.
